They also need to deal with unexpected situations.

Someone might interrupt.

Someone might have had a few drinks.

A table might suddenly disappear because the venue needs it for something else.

If I need to move around a venue, I'll move around.

If guests are particularly engaged, I don't want to suddenly look at my watch because an imaginary hour has just expired.

The aim is to provide professional entertainment that feels natural rather than making the whole evening feel like a taxi meter is running.
