What is close-up magic?

Close-up magic is exactly what the name suggests. Magic performed close to the audience.

Rather than standing on a stage several metres away, I perform just a few feet from your guests. Depending on the trick, I may even place the magic directly into someone's hands.

I use playing cards, coins, borrowed objects, money, rings, keys, elastic bands and plenty of other everyday objects.

The idea is to take something completely ordinary and make it do something completely extraordinary.

A borrowed ring can disappear. Or a signed playing card can appear somewhere it absolutely shouldn't.

A coin can vanish from one person's hand and appear somewhere else. A borrowed object can seemingly travel through space.

Occasionally, I will perform something that makes somebody look at me as though I have just broken several laws of physics.

Which, thankfully, I haven't. I'm a magician, not a physicist!

So are coins. But I don't always need my own props.

It isn't a magician's special ring. It belongs to them.

If something impossible then happens to that object, the experience becomes much more meaningful.
