That isn't really my style.

My mind reading magic is much more personal, interactive and close-up.

I might ask someone to think of a word. Remember a card. Make a decision or concentrate on something that only they know. Through a combination of magic, psychology, observation, suggestion and carefully constructed routines, I create the illusion that I can somehow reach inside their thoughts.

And when it works, the reaction can be fantastic.

The great thing about mind reading is that the person experiencing it becomes part of the magic. They aren't simply watching a trick happen to somebody else.

They are the trick.

Mind reading magic for weddings in Bath

Weddings are one of my favourite environments for close-up mind reading magic.

There are usually plenty of natural opportunities to entertain people throughout the day. Particularly when guests are waiting between different parts of the wedding.

Perhaps the photographs are taking place. Or the room is being prepared for the wedding breakfast.

Perhaps the bride and groom are greeting guests.

Or perhaps everyone is simply enjoying a drink and having a chat.

This is where close-up magic can work extremely well.

I can move naturally between groups of guests, performing directly in front of them rather than requiring everyone to sit down and watch a formal show.

A mind reading effect can involve two people, a small group or an entire table. Sometimes I will know something that someone has merely thought about. Sometimes a prediction turns out to be exactly right.

And occasionally, I have absolutely no idea how I'm going to get out of the situation.

One of the things I enjoy most about performing mind reading magic is getting people involved.

You don't have to be a magician to appreciate magic.

In fact, it's probably better if you aren't.

I can borrow objects from people. Use playing cards, coins and other everyday items. Or simply ask someone to make a decision in their own mind.

The objects themselves aren't necessarily important.

The impossible moment is.

That might be correctly revealing a thought. Predicting a choice. Or apparently knowing something that I couldn't possibly have known.

Because the audience is involved in the process, there is nowhere to hide.

There isn't a large stage, complicated machinery or suspicious-looking box. I can even work and perform around table tops.
