Professional Wedding Magician Cheltenham

Andy spends around 2 hours a day in practice

Your wedding day is supposed to be one of the happiest days of your life.

It is also one of the few occasions where you can spend months planning every tiny detail. Then only to discover that your guests still have to wait around at various points during the day.

The photographs take longer than expected. The wedding breakfast is being prepared. Plus bride and groom have disappeared for photographs.

People are standing around with a drink, wondering what they're supposed to do next.

That's where a wedding magician in Cheltenham can make a real difference.

I'm Andy Field. A professional close-up magician with a quarter of a century of experience. I've received hundreds of five-star reviews and recommendations from people who have seen me perform. On top of that my magic videos have attracted millions of views on YouTube.

I've also worked as a magic consultant and hand double for the BBC drama Hustle.

I perform interactive close-up magic at weddings throughout Cheltenham and Gloucestershire, bringing the entertainment directly to your guests.

Why Hire a Wedding Magician in Cheltenham?

A wedding magician doesn't require a stage, complicated equipment or a room full of chairs.

Instead, I move between small groups of guests. I perform close-up magic right in front of them.

Cards change.

Borrowed rings disappear.

Coins travel.

Someone thinks of something. suddenly I know what they're thinking.

The magic happens in your guests' hands, which makes it particularly memorable.

Close-up magic is also incredibly sociable. People naturally gather around when something impossible is happening. Guests who may not know each other suddenly have something to talk about.

That's particularly useful at weddings, where different groups of friends and family are meeting for the first time.

The Perfect Wedding Day Entertainment

One of the biggest advantages of hiring a Cheltenham wedding magician is flexibility.

Your wedding day doesn't have to stop so that I can perform. Instead, the magic fits around the day.

I can entertain guests during the drinks reception while the photographer is busy with the happy couple.

I can perform while the wedding breakfast room is being prepared.

For seated wedding breakfasts and dinners, table-top magic can also work particularly well.

Guests can also be entertained between courses or during other natural breaks in the celebrations. The idea is simple.

Sleight of hand magic works around your wedding rather than your wedding working around the magic.

That means you don't need to rearrange your plans or create a special performance area.

I just need a group of people and then showtime can start.

Close-Up Magic During The Drinks Reception

The drinks reception is one of my favourite times to perform my sleight of hand.

Your guests have arrived. Everyone is dressed up. The champagne is flowing and the bride and groom are usually somewhere having photographs taken.

Meanwhile, your guests are chatting. That's the perfect environment for close-up magic.

I'll move naturally between groups. I introduce myself and performing short, interactive routines. I always use misdirection and psychology in my routines and people enjoy this so much.

Rather than making everyone sit down and watch a show, the magic happens naturally among your guests.

One group sees something impossible. Someone calls another person over.

Then suddenly I've got a small crowd wondering what's going on.

It's a very efficient way of creating a bit of organised chaos. The good kind.

A Wedding Magician Who Gets Guests Involved

The best close-up magic isn't simply something your guests watch. They become part of it.

A guest might choose a card or another might hold a coin.

Someone might lend me a ring.

The important decisions are made by the spectators themselves.

That makes the experience much more powerful because there is no hiding behind a stage or theatrical lighting.

When something impossible happens while you're holding the object yourself, it becomes considerably harder to explain.

I've been performing close-up magic for a quarter of a century. Experience has taught me that different guests respond in different ways.

Some people immediately want to get involved. Others are perfectly happy watching from the sidelines.

A good wedding magician needs to recognise the difference.

Otherwise you can end up chasing Uncle Brian around the venue with a deck of cards. Nobody wants that!

Wedding Magic for Different Ages and Personalities

Every wedding has its characters. You've got the people who want to examine everything.

The people who are convinced they know how every trick works. The people who say, “You won't fool me.”

And then there are the people who quietly watch from behind their glass of wine and suddenly become the star of the trick.

That's part of what makes close-up magic so much fun.

I adapt my performances to the people in front of me rather than delivering exactly the same routine regardless of who's watching.

The aim is to make people laugh and experience something genuinely surprising.

Why Choose Andy Field?

Cheltenham wedding magician Andy Field — magician and consultant to BBC’s Hustle.

I've been performing professional magic for a quarter of a century. I've had plenty of time to discover what works when you're performing for real people at real events.

I'm also a two-time S.A.M.S. Champion of Close-Up Magic, an achievement I'm particularly proud of.

I've also worked as a magic consultant for the BBC television drama Hustle, helping with the magical and deceptive techniques featured in the programme.

My magic videos have been watched by millions of people on YouTube. I've received hundreds of five-star reviews from clients and event organisers.

Those credentials are reassuring when you're choosing entertainment for something as important as your wedding. But ultimately, a wedding magician isn't judged by certificates.

He's judged by the reactions of the guests.

And that's the bit I enjoy most.

Wedding Magician Cheltenham and Gloucestershire

I perform at weddings throughout Cheltenham and the surrounding Gloucestershire area. This includes Tewksbury, Prestbury, Charlton Kings and Stroud

Whether your wedding is taking place at a hotel, wedding venue, country house, restaurant or private property, close-up magic can usually fit naturally into the occasion.

Cheltenham itself has some wonderful locations for weddings, while the surrounding Cotswolds provide plenty of beautiful venues too.

The beauty of close-up magic is that it doesn't require a particular type of room.

No stage or lighting. No complicated technical setup. Just guests and me.

And several decks of cards that have probably seen more weddings than some of the guests!

When Should You Book a Wedding Magician?

If you've decided that close-up magic would be a good fit for your wedding, it's sensible to book your entertainment well in advance.

Popular wedding dates can become busy, particularly during the summer months and on Saturdays.

The earlier you make contact, the more likely it is that your preferred date will be available.

When you contact me, simply tell me the date, location and type of wedding you're planning.

We can then discuss what you're looking for and whether I'm the right magician for your celebration.

There's no need to work out every minute of the day before contacting me. That's my job.

Although weddings are a major part of what I do, I also perform at corporate events in Cheltenham.

Make Your Cheltenham Wedding Unforgettable

Your wedding day will already be full of memorable moments.

But sometimes it's the unexpected moments that guests remember most.

A card appearing somewhere impossible. Next a borrowed ring disappearing. Suddenly a guest discovering that something they were holding has somehow changed.

Those are the moments that people talk about afterwards.

“Did you see what happened with that card?”

“How did he know what I was thinking?”

“I was actually holding it!”

That's what I focus on to create.

I'm Andy Field, a professional Wedding Magician in Cheltenham, with a quarter of a century of experience performing close-up magic.

If you'd like interactive magic at your wedding, I'd love to hear from you.

And don't worry.

I promise to leave the disappearing act to the rings.
